We recently had the pleasure of welcoming author Kara Storti into the studio for a personal branding consultation and photoshoot in preparation for her upcoming book release. Kara arrived full of life, energy, and ideas—exactly the kind of presence that makes a creative session feel effortless.

During our consultation, we discussed wardrobe, hair and makeup, and the overall aesthetic she envisioned for her author branding images. Kara shared a PMS color she hoped to incorporate into one of her backgrounds—a thoughtful touch that helped align her portraits with the visual identity of her book launch. She styled her own hair beautifully, and Rouge Cosmetics completed her look with flawless, camera-ready makeup.

The shoot itself was relaxed, encouraging, and collaborative. Kara mentioned that posing didn’t come naturally to her, but with gentle guidance and a bit of fun along the way, she quickly found her confidence. The final images reflect her warmth, professionalism, and creative spirit—perfect for her promotional materials, website, and LinkedIn profile.

After receiving her gallery, Kara shared this kind feedback:

“I truthfully can say that looking at these pictures, I have never felt so beautiful… Louise walked me through everything like the pro she is. She hyped me up and made me feel happy and energized, which was reflected in the pictures. I couldn’t have had a better experience.”

About Kara and Her Upcoming Book

Kara Storti is the award-winning author of Tripping Back Blue and a writer whose work blends emotional depth with a touch of the unexpected. Her upcoming novel, The Electric Life of Lavender Lewis, follows a teen with severe epilepsy who begins to see a mysterious boy each time she seizes. The story moves through grief, magic, self-discovery, and a road trip across New England—including a stop in Salem, where Kara herself lives.

Kara’s own experience with epilepsy since age thirteen influences the heart of her storytelling. Through her books, she hopes to offer comfort to teens navigating similar challenges, reminding them that they are never alone—even in their hardest moments. She lives with her husband and her dog, Osmosis, in Salem, Massachusetts, where she continues to write, create, and share her love of story and connection.

Working with Kara was an absolute joy, and we’re thrilled with how her branding session came together. We can’t wait to see her new book out in the world—and to watch her use these images as she steps into an exciting next chapter of her author career.
